Can’t Sleep? Yoga to Sleep! Often at the end of my yoga class, my yoga students would fall sound asleep whilst doing savasana… Theresa 10 April 2007
Zzzzz…Zzzzz…Zzzzzz…Ah! The sweet sound of a student who had fallen asleep in class! Yoga is a very soothing exercise and many of my students report that after their yoga classes, they are able to enjoy deeper and more restful sleep. Hm! So do they sleep after class or during class?!
Actually, the majority of my yoga students who live very stressful lives love the after-effect of a good yoga workout, which means that they experience very beautiful sleep cycles whilst in their beds in the dark of the night. However, sometimes because they are so exhausted and my sessions have such a calming effect, they start snoring while doing the very relaxing savasana. Occasionally though, there would be a student who falls asleep when class had only just started (ie still at the more rigorous part of the 1hr program!).
So if you have a problem sleeping, join my class!
